Brand new production by Guascone Teatro, debut August 2017.
From an old idea by Kaemmerle, this show was born with the complicity of Anna Di Maggio and Silvia Rubes. A creation with three heads and many hearts.
Romeo and Juliet are fine, they are not dead, indeed they had to live for many years facing all the daily difficulties due to cohabitation, work, old age and modernity.
The show is very funny and recalls (almost quoting them) many masterpieces of 20th century theater, from “Giorni Felici” to “Noises Offstage”. Romeo and Juliet did not die very young like the rock stars of the 70s, but they are stealthily aiming for retirement and a healthy idleness to look at old photos.
The text is a very sweet tribute to slow love, the one that lasts, the one that can transform from passion into experience. The love of our grandparents, the love of the resistance fighters.
The caustic god of theater then decided that the 2 heroes from Verona work as entertainers at wedding banquets with very unrefined guests.
The three artists have been moving for more than 25 years in an independent and very personal way, they are three honest and talented seekers of beauty.
