Rapsodia per giganti

OR VAULTING FOR STILTOWERS BETWEEN MYTH AND FAIRYTALE | TRICKSTER TEATRO

Rhapsody for Giants is a duet for stilt walkers in open spaces that has its roots in all that vast territory of suggestions between myth and fairy tale. Two enormous characters from another time appear accompanied by the roll of drums … the dance begins and as in an ancient deck of cards the stories intersect and merge, unravel to mix again balanced on the thin line of the eternal union of love and death. What leads the spectator in the unfolding of the show are not so much the individual fabulae, the individual episodes with their beginnings and their ends, but the general atmosphere: that general aura of power and ineffability that pervades the entire area between myth and fairy tale, in front of which everything that is human seems irremediably fleeting and ephemeral and of a disarming smallness; Thus, in this round of roles, the characters lose their ‘humanity’ to transform themselves into characters in which opposites and their negations coexist: the narrative structure is abandoned in favour of a plot that unfolds according to the logic of image associations.
