Kolonia paradies

Max Paiella

The summer camp, a legacy of an Italy of which a black and white memory remains, for those who tried it, was an experience on the edge of survival. A summer stay similar to a month of compulsory military service, a comical and tragic journey in the Kolonia Paradies between bathing at the Cervia lido and corporal punishment where the holiday was supposed to be synonymous with discipline. The aforementioned journey began on a cheerful day in mid-July and ended on a sad Saturday of August 2, 1980.
