Marea, life in every breath

CADA DIE TEATRO / TOMMASO NOVI

Marea is a sea princess who can live both in and out of the water: a beautiful woman who becomes a child again every night. One summer evening, two sailors, Feli Peli D’oro and Ben Bum Bum, meet her in an alley in a seaside town: the woman seems to be made of water, so pale in complexion that she seems blue, the same extraordinary blue reflection that blocks of ice have adrift in the middle of the sea.

Feli and Ben’s stories don’t quite match, perhaps because they’ve had a few too many drinks. It often happens that they overindulge in rum, when, after months of sailing, they feel the earth under their feet again.

A story in stereo for two actors, Giancarlo Biffi and Pierpaolo Piludu, accompanied by the musician Tommaso Novi. Words and sounds coming directly from the languages most congenial to the three artists: Logudorese for Piludu, the Lombard dialect for Biffi, the piano and the musical whistle for Novi.
