Once Federico Fellini, speaking about the film “È la nave va” said that he had had the first idea reading about a Jesuit who, in his correspondence with an ambassador, had given a different version of the causes of the First World War than that of the Sarajevo attack. But then, if History lies, why couldn’t cinema (or theater) lie too, which, by its very nature, is fiction? Fiction, therefore, artifices of fantasy, of the imaginary, to confuse reality with its symbol, the metaphor.
“The truth… the truths… the lies…”
We wanted to pay homage to an artist, Federico Fellini, to a visionary, to his cinema, to a ‘poetic’ way of dealing with reality. We started from the film “E la nave va” and then navigated within the theatre and the show, the imaginary and the real, always having Fellini’s filmography as a navigation compass. To create a show that tells, with lightness, of marginal, double human universes, forced to hide the reality of their inadequacy behind names, stories, myths that perhaps never existed.
Without worrying about having to explain everything, as in the dreams that Fellini continually drew from, this scenic outcome of the LEGGERI theatre workshop, has combined music, song and theatre, mixing the cards between reality and fiction, being and appearing…
The ship “CarAmore”, an allegory of the human journey, will accompany the characters into a universe that will reveal their true reality…
