The story we want to tell (inspired by the tale of Tom Thumb) is that of a little girl who, thrown in front of the necessity of facing life, suddenly finds herself living on that threshold that is an either/or, from which you either go forward or you go back, and if you go forward you grow up…
Death (‘a signora) and his henchmen pursue Pulcina, who in this staging has characteristics that can be traced back, even if not exclusively, to southern Italy. She is an adaptable little girl, she is very cunning, she is capable of intuitions, of enchantments, she is superstitious. Pulcina has a hunger greater than her, an atavistic hunger that precedes her, that sometimes speaks in her.
