LA VETRERIA SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS Cagliari 1943: the war inside the house
In 2006, Cada Die Teatro, within the La Vetreria school of performing arts, proposed a theater course, led by Pierpaolo Piludu, entitled “Cagliari 1943. The war inside the house”. About twenty adults signed up and decided to stage a work centered on the tragic days of 1943 when our city was almost razed to the ground. At the same time, in collaboration with the University of Cagliari and the ISRE, research began aimed at creating a video archive with the testimonies of the “children and young people of 1943”. The following year, at the end of the workshop, a scenic outcome was presented that has since been replicated numerous times. In particular, on the anniversary of the bombings of February 1943, every year the show is presented both for students of Cagliari schools and for all citizens. In light of the success and interest generated around the initiative, “Cagliari 1943. The war inside the house”, most of the students who participated in the first course still enthusiastically attend the lessons today.
Although they have also participated in other shows (“In the Gonare mountain… a siren sings!” freely inspired by the novel “Assandira” by Giulio Angioni, “Storie clandestine”, “Supercondominio” and recently “Cari simpatici vecchini”) based on texts by Pierpaolo Piludu, the group has kept the name “La guerra dentro casa”. first course, they still attend the lessons with enthusiasm today.
