Or Costantino Nivola on stage
“the pot-bellied wall of the house always hid a treasure, the flat and thin bread that swelled in the heat of the oven, a promise that our hunger would be satisfied forever. In the same way the pregnant woman hides in her womb the secret of a wonderful child”. Costantino Nivola tells his story through the life cycle of the seasons. The show touches on an ontological form of memory. The memory of life and of meeting death, because the body must know what death is. The awareness of death, as for Nivola, allows us to renew ourselves and our feelings. Because our life is actually the path to Hades, and this theatrical “rite” also wants to be the expansion of this path. The actor tries to overcome the limits of his body, of the human, to enter the metaphysics of the scene, to indulge and reveal the profound meaning of Antine Nivola’s words.
The scenes are inspired by the artistic production of Maria Lai, a dear friend of Costantino Nivola.
