Valter makes fun of the world because he has always been used to losing.
He thinks the world should apologize to him.
But when an illness leads him to an endless odyssey of pain, he feels that instead he is the one who should apologize to everyone. Because what he thought was his pain is a drop of the world’s pain. A drop of injustice without remedy and explanation. And then, perhaps, Valter can discover joy. The joy of accepting and living.
