Francesco Abate

Francesco Abate (Cagliari, 1964). He made his debut with Mister Dabolina (Castelvecchi, 1998). This was followed by The Bad Chronicler (Il Maestrale, 2003), Last of the Championship, from a story that won the Solinas prize (Il Maestrale, 2004/ Frassinelli 2006), Getsemani (Frassinelli, 2006) and The City Boys (Il Maestrale, 2007). With Einaudi he published I Trust You (Stile libero 2007 and Super ET 2015), co-written with Massimo Carlotto, So it is said (2008), I Excuse Me (with Saverio Mastrofranco, Stile libero 2010 and Super ET 2012 and 2017), A Place for Me Too (2013), My Mother and Other Catastrophes (2016), Transplanted Buses (2018). With The Salina Crimes (2020 and 2023) a new female protagonist debuted in the Italian crime novel, the investigative journalist Clara Simon, whose adventures continue with The Calafati Complot (2022) and The Tonnara Misdeed (2023). She is among the authors of the charity anthology Sei per la Sardegna (Einaudi 2014, with Alessandro De Roma, Marcello Fois, Salvatore Mannuzzu, Michela Murgia and Paola Soriga).
