Ogliastra Teatro Project and the first edition of the Festival.

Ogliastra Teatro is a project that aims to spread and develop theatrical culture. Through this project, for the first time in Sardinia, funding from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities specific to the disadvantaged areas of our country.
The Eti, Italian Theatre Authority, which manages these funds, at the specific request of the Municipality of Tortolì which, in turn, has identified Cada Die Teatro as the project’s managing body, has co-financed the project at 50% by stipulating two agreements (one with the Municipality of Tortoli and one with Cada Die Teatro) that provide for the carrying out of continuous theatrical activity (workshops, reviews, seasons, festivals, seminars, etc.). The local cultural association Anfiteatro Sud has operationally divided the organizational burden of the review with Cada Die Teatro.
The aim and objectives of the project are to activate actions that make the stimulating function of the theater stable and lasting to guarantee cultural and civil growth in one of the most disadvantaged areas of our Island. In this perspective, the State intervenes in Sardinia, for a three-year period, with its important contribution as it already happens in Matera (Teatro dei Sassi), Bari (Kismet), Taranto (CREST), Lecce (Koreja), Castrovillari (Cz) (Scena Verticale) and in dozens of other situations in our south. The project “Aree disagiate” of Eti was awarded by the Ministry of Public Function as one of the hundred projects that were able to stimulate local initiative. In connection with this intervention, the institution is supporting, through specific courses entrusted to a consultancy firm, all the managing entities so that they can present themselves to the European Union, within the Equal programme, with specific training intervention initiatives aimed at supporting human resources who, in the labour market, are at risk of marginalisation, expulsion and/or discrimination.

The flagship of the Ogliastra Teatro project is the festival that was held in its first edition in Tortolì from 12 to 25 July at the open-air theatre San Francesco. On stage 11 days of shows that were held with great public success and important recognition and attention from the citizens, the press, the pro loco, cultural associations, entrepreneurs (many sponsored the event by offering typical Ogliastra products to spectators) and also tourists. 7 paid shows were presented, 2 free in addition to the 2 scenic outcomes of the kids involved in the theatre workshops held starting from the month of April.

The companies and groups involved were 10, the actors involved were 36, the musicians 16, the directors 7 and the technicians 8.
