The guiding idea of ​​this edition will be reading, books and Sardinian narrative in particular.

The Festival Workshop and the scheduled shows will be an opportunity for a very timely reflection on books and theatre and in particular to discover the dramaturgy present in the production of this successful season of Sardinian authors. The activity of the workshops will produce the staging, during the days of the Festival, of three works. The shows that we will present in this edition, in addition to some of our latest productions Arcipelago, taken from the novel of the same name by Maria Giacobbe, Pedrigheddu and Posidos (which we will present in an unpublished version together with Su Concordu Iscanesu) are presented by some Italian contemporary theatre companies (Faber teater, Leonardo Capuano and Roberto Abbiati, the Centro di ricerca teatrale di Pontedera, Mana Chuma Teatro). The choice of shows is however guided by an attention to quality capable of responding to the expectation of an entertaining theatre, but of great rigor and never banal that also offers an opportunity for cultural growth and rediscovery of identity and significant values. With Jerzu Teatrofestival we tried to link the artistic aspect to the social and touristic one up to the commercial one, representing the union of the theatre with the cannonau.

In addition to the entertainment events (among other things, a welcome return is that of the new French Theatre/Circus of Rital Brocante with a new show and workshop) the Festival is characterized by the Construction Site. Adolescents, aspiring actors, actors, residents and non-residents, are now a large ‘population’ of people attracted by the wine-theatrical journey proposed by the Festival and will animate from morning to late at night the activities of a real festival that proposes Jerzu Teatrofestival again, at the beginning of August, as the center of the theatrical scene that, after Polverigi, Sant’Arcangelo, Volterra, etc. closes the national summer season of the Festivals and lands in the Sardinian one passing the baton and the same spirit, to the great jazz of Paolo Fresu, to the Vermentino and to Berchidda which, in fact, opens on August 11th.
