Ausmerzen. Lives unworthy of being lived

RENATO SARTI - BARBARA APUZZO / TEATRO DELLA COOPERATIVA

Many years ago, in the mid-1990s, while I was preparing a show about the Risiera di San Sabba concentration camp in Trieste, I learned about Aktion Te Vier, Action Ti Quattro, the first Nazi mass extermination: the elimination of seventy thousand Germans, including the mentally ill, the handicapped, the disabled and children with malformations. Why did I learn about it? Because the same laborers, the same squads of butchers from T4, who for the f...

Mai morti

Renato Sarti - Teatro della cooperativa

Mai Morti is a “dark fable” that provokes discussion, anger, division, emotion and moving. With evocative writing, Renato Sarti retraces our recent history through the tales of a never-repentant fascist. Bebo Storti has been entrusted with the difficult task of giving voice to this nostalgic for the “good deeds” of the twenty-year Fascist period, today personally committed to defending public order against viados, non-EU citizens, gypsie...

VIA HERMADA – STRADA PRIVATA

RENATO SARTI | VALENTINO MANNIAS

During the First World War, 287 kg bombs created craters 8 meters wide and deep, killed within a radius of 400 meters and had a range of over 12 km. Hermada and San Michele are two small mountains near Monfalcone and Gorizia, just over 10 km apart as the crow flies. Today, as then, they look at each other and in their own way, perhaps, they manage to talk to each other. San Michele was conquered thanks to the fundamental contribution of the Sassa...

Chicago Boys

RENATO SARTI / GIULIANA MUSSO

This sentence begins Chicago Boys, a sort of “crazy, unhappy ending” conference that takes place in a nuclear shelter. A surreal exaltation of capitalism, consumerism and the most unbridled liberalization. The Chicago Boys were a group of economists formed in the Seventies at the University of Chicago, under the aegis of the great guru of liberalism, Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize for economics in 1976. Friedman and his followers exercised a pr...

Mai Morti (reading)

RENATO SARTI

"Mai morti" brings to the stage the horrors of the crimes of the Decima Mas during the years of the Republic of Salò, recalling the names and the martyrdom of some of the victims. The narration then moves to the post-war period, recalling the ties that several exponents of the Decima Mas have maintained for decades with the environments of the deviant secret services, entering in various capacities in the investigations on some of the darkest an...
