After his debut at the Teatro Verdi with the great director Margherita Wallmann, he trained with Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan and at the Teatro dell’Elfo directed by Gabriele Salvatores, Elio De Capitani and Ferdinando Bruni. Among other shows he participated in 1985 in Comedians, with Claudio Bisio, Antonio Catania, Silvio Orlando, Bebo Storti, Paolo Rossi, Gigio Alberti and Gianni Palladino.
Commitment, historical memory and contemporaneity characterize the work of Renato Sarti, actor, author and director who trained with Strehler and at Elfo and founder of the Teatro della Cooperativa, for which he created shows such as Mai Morti with Bebo Storti, Muri with Giulia Lazzarini, Matilde e il tram per San Vittore with Maddalena Crippa and Naufraghi senza volto with Laura Curino.
He has received numerous awards during his career, including the Riccione Production Award and a medal from the President of the Republic.
At the cinema he acted for Gabriele Salvatores, Marco Tullio Giordana, Daniele Luchetti, Gianni Amelio and Marco Bellocchio, who directed him in Esterno notte and Rapito.
