Paolo Panaro

Actor and director, Paolo Panaro is the principal resident artist of the Diaghilev company. He graduated in 1988 from the School of Interpretation and Scenic Expression of the Consorzio Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, directed by maestro Orazio Costa Giovangigli. He also attended theater workshops held by actors Tonino Pierfederici and Jerzy Stuhr, as well as the highly specialized courses of the National Academy of Dramatic Arts “Silvio D’Amico” directed by maestro Luca Ronconi, actress Marisa Fabbri and musicologist Paolo Terni. As an actor he took part in numerous theater shows. He collaborated with actors Roberto Herlitzka, Lucilla Morlacchi, Massimo Venturiello, Paolo Graziosi, Massimo Verdastro, Elena Bucci, Marco Sgrosso, Laura Curino, Lucilla Giagnoni; with musicians and concert artists of great prestige, such as pianists Alfred Brendel, Ramin Baharami and Alexander Romanovsky; with orchestra conductors Arnold Bosman and Gerd Albrecht.
For over twenty years he has worked steadily with the Diaghilev company, taking care of the realization of production initiatives and artistic projects. Since 1990 he has been developing an original catalogue of narrative shows. Through a patient recovery of the theatrical techniques of ancient storytellers and an in-depth study of diction techniques, Panaro has created a repertoire of shows, whose titles are taken from the heritage. In parallel with his activity as an actor and director, he carries out an intense teaching activity, directing and coordinating theatre improvement workshops and training projects within the programmes curated by the Diaghilev company and on behalf of universities, schools, cultural bodies and institutions. of great literature and range across different genres: from fables to poems to contemporary novels.
