Il catechismo della pecora

Gesuino Némus

Il catechismo della pecora (The Catechism of the Sheep) is the title of the new adventure narrated by Gesuino Némus, unforgettable author/protagonist of the theology of the wild boar.
On October 1, 1964, Mariàca Tidòngia climbs onto the windowsill of the Telévras school and runs away. Mariàca is the daughter of a shepherd and her future seems already marked; nevertheless Marcellino Nonies, a sole teacher in his first assignment, does everything he can to ensure that this extraordinarily intelligent little girl manages to at least get her elementary school diploma. One day, however, Mariàca, just fourteen years old, announces that she is pregnant and refuses to say who the father of the child is. Shortly after, she disappears into thin air.

Fifty years have passed and in the village no one seems to remember this story until Mariàca is mentioned again and her presence hovers like a shadow, together with two suspicious deaths, over the small community of Telévras. Ettore Tigàssu, brigadier for eternity, will do everything he can to uncover the mystery that has surrounded the woman for decades and it will be the memories of the only teacher, handwritten in beautiful and ornate script, that will help him understand – at least in part – the truth.

Half a century of history narrated through the cultural and political myths of the Sixties and Seventies (such as terrorism, fugitives and repentants included), myths that return forcefully in this new adventure narrated by Gesuino Némus, author/protagonist of La teologia del cinghiale.
