22nd Festival dei Tacchi

in Jerzu from 3 to 10 August 2021

22 editions, 8 days, 18 shows, 4 book presentations and 3 theatre workshops.

Cada die Teatro presents the new edition of the Festival dei Tacchi that will be held in Jerzu from 3 to 10 August at the Cantina Antichi Poderi, tackling the crisis head on: «We are a little crazy and so we have decided to extend the festival by three days compared to last year. Although the pandemic has also hit the world of culture hard, I am convinced that in order to overcome this calamity we must join forces. No one can save themselves alone. We have the political and cultural duty to do our part to help the community that has hosted and supported us for decades. Adding more days to the Festival means involving more companies and making the structures and people of the area work harder. In these situations the commitment must be greater, we cannot afford to be satisfied» explained the artistic director Giancarlo Biffi during the press conference this morning and added: «These have been 15 very difficult months for everyone, but I believe that our kids have suffered the most. That is why this year’s edition offers many shows designed for them. We try to restore that sociality, the strength of the encounter, that the theatre can offer”.

The mayor of Jerzu Carlo Lai, does not hide his great satisfaction: «It was not easy last year and it has not been easy this year, but Jerzu continues to believe in the extraordinary strength and immense beauty of that great instrument of education of the soul which is the theater. Even this year, despite the enormous difficulties and emergencies faced in recent months, we have had no doubts, qualms or hesitations. It is as if Jerzu had, towards its citizens and the many visitors of its August nights, a sort of moral duty to carry on this wonderful event now in its twenty-second edition. After all, Jerzu is “the Festival of Heels” and “the Festival of Heels” is Jerzu. Jerzu is famous everywhere, and has always been, for a noble but complex product like its wines. It is therefore gratifying and stimulating to also note the enthusiastic appreciation of the public towards this dichotomy that is created with the fusion, in the August week of the festival, between the noble art of winemaking and the noble art of acting.
We have believed for over twenty years in the extraordinary beauty of the theater, in the unique emotion that a live show transmits, even more so in the wonderful setting of “Antichi Poderi” we will never stop believing in it. Because Jerzu is winemaking culture, it is culture tout court but it is also indisputably, for over twenty years now, the culture of theater». Marcello Usala, president of the Cantina Antichi Poderi di Jerzu, echoes him: «For us and for our entire community it is now an event that we await as one awaits a welcome guest who returns to visit us every year».

Graziano Milia, head of communications and external relations for the Fondazione di Sardegna, proudly claims support for the festival: «We often ask ourselves if we do well, if we spend the Foundation’s funds in the best way. With Cada Die we never have doubts. The work that the company has been carrying out for more than twenty years in the territories of Ogliatra, a region with great cultural ambitions, can only receive our support».

Bachisio is a simple man, strongly tied to his land. Together with his wife and son, like many other farmers, he is fighting against a large company, “Bentulare”, which has purchased enormous plots of land throughout Sardinia to cultivate them intensively. His son, Michelangelo, a graduate in agriculture, has been trying for years to combine the ancient agricultural knowledge of his grandparents with scientific research and productivity, in a...

FRANCESCA PANI / CADA DIE TEATRO

Once upon a time there was a mother who wasn’t a mother yet. Once upon a time there was a daughter who isn’t here yet.   Mignolina is a little girl born between the petals of a flower, as tall as a finger, so small that she can hide inside a book. Together with her we venture through the pages made of cloth and paper, with fantastic and monstrous animals, kind and selfish creatures, with the sun and the rain, above and below the earth...

Workshop by Andrea Pennacchi We are made of stories and since the dawn of time we have wanted to tell them. It is no coincidence that the Odyssey has been defined as "a tale of tales", a majestic cathedral of tales and storytellers, crossed by references to other stories, myths, in a dense network aimed at capturing the listener. The workshop led by Andrea Pennacchi will focus on knowing how to tell in a wise and conscious way what the ancients ...
