Stefano Panzeri

LECCO, 1976
I trained as an actor at the Teatro Stabile del Veneto Carlo Goldoni in Venice directed by Giulio Bosetti in July 1997. In 1998 I made my debut in L’uomo la bestia e la virtù by Pirandello directed by Giuseppe Emiliani with the Teatro Carcano. In 1998 I also began studying masks and Commedia dell’Arte with Antonio Fava and later with Claudia Contin, Marcello Bartoli, Enrico Bonavera and Carlo Boso. From 2004 to 2012 I was an actor member of the Teatro Invito company in Lecco for both children’s and adult theatre productions. Since 2008 I have collaborated with the companies Albero Blu, Teatro Città Murata in Como, Teatro del Buratto in Milan, Teatro Sociale in Como ASLICO, with the theatrical residence Attivamente and the Teatro Immagine company in Venice. I have also worked as an actor at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan-Trame d’autore and with the Biennale Teatro. Since 2000 I have continued my acting training with Laura Curino, Giorgio Rossi and Cesar Brie.

In 2008, with 2 Catalan actors and a Portuguese one, I created the artistic ensemble JOGIJO with which I dedicate myself to producing trilingual shows, and the company PANEDENTITEATRO (La Fiaba dei bambini topo, I Supereroi non bevono il brodo) for children’s theatre in Italy. In 2014, I became literally addicted to Terra Matta, the autobiographical writing of a semi-illiterate Sicilian labourer born in 1899 and I debuted with Terra Matta (1898-1918), the first chapter of a tetralogy that covers all 1027 pages written by Rabito. In 2017, Terra Matta 2 (1918-1943) won the I Visionari selection at the Kilowatt Festival in San Sepolcro. In May 2015, thanks to a crowdfunding, I started OLTREOCEANO, a project for the collection and restitution of Italian migrant memory starting from Terra Matta, which has so far had 5 editions in Argentina, 2 in England, 1 in Northern Ireland and 2 in Australia (from October 2019 the project will also debut in Switzerland, Germany and the USA). In September 2016, I completed the second and final level of the Screen Acting course at the Met Film School in London and began a collaboration with Maghaberry Prison in Belfast and the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh for a Narration and Restorative Justice project.

In April 2018 I debuted with the new production Così lontano cos Ticino by and with Davide Marranchelli SHOW FINALIST AT THE 2019 IN BOX PRIZE.
In January 2019 I debuted with Nel Ventre new narrative work co-produced with the Teatro dell’Argine of Bologna.

Since 2021 I have been an actor in the monologues SEMI my production, IL PAESE DELLE FACCE SGONFIE production of La Confraternita del Chianti, GARÒ UNA STORIA ARMENA production of Anfiteatro and actor in the shows IO VOLO and DELL’ORROR NON V’È TRACCIA by Karakorum Teatro.

ANFITEATRO COMPANY
Anfiteatro was founded in 2004 by Giuseppe Di Bello, a director and playwright who has been linked to the Teatro Città Murata in Como for about 20 years and for whom he has written many of the most significant shows, including: “La guerra dei tasto”, “L’isola di A.” – “Pezzo di legno/Pinocchio” – “L’antro del Teatro” – “Nozze di Luna” and with Marco Baliani “Prima che il gallo canti” (Italian Drama Institute Award 1995). His shows have often been indicated by the Italian Theatre Authority (through the Stregagatto Award) among the best national productions of Theatre for New Generations. Subsequently, with the entry of actors Naya Dedemailan and Marco Continanza, and Michele Ciarla who takes care of the organization, the core group is strengthened around a dramaturgy always aimed at a poetic and problematic Theatre.
