The Teatro dei Sassi association was founded in Matera in 1992. From 1993 to 1995 he founded the Theatre School, attended by over two hundred people of all ages, genders and social backgrounds. In 1995 the Teatro dei Sassi company was born, composed of teachers and students of the School. In the same year the company received a special mention at the Eti Scenario Award with the study for the show “In fondo al fiore”. Since then he has toured Italy with his own productions, accumulating recognitions, mentions and awards for his work. Since 1998 he has been recognized as a Theatrical Promotion Organization by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities – Department of Entertainment. In the same year, the Basilicata Region included the Teatro dei Sassi among the subjects of particular interest and national relevance (art. 16 of law 22/88).

The story we want to tell (inspired by the tale of Tom Thumb) is that of a little girl who, thrown in front of the necessity of facing life, suddenly finds herself living on that threshold that is an either/or, from which you either go forward or you go back, and if you go forward you grow up... Death ('a signora) and his henchmen pursue Pulcina, who in this staging has characteristics that can be traced back, even if not exclusively, to souther...
