This work was born from a study of the 40s, the war, the period of the Resistance in Italy. Initially my intention was to write a story about a real person, Leandro Corona, a boy from Villamassargia, arrested and shot in 1943, as a deserter. I really liked the story of that young man who died because he didn’t want to kill or be killed. It corresponded to an image of a hero close to me. However, I immediately understood that perhaps it wasn’t right to invent a story about a person I knew almost nothing about. So I decided to take a trip with Leandro, reconstructing his last months, through a completely invented character: a hypothetical girlfriend, Teresa, who will travel throughout Italy to find her Leandro Corona. I began to write, to tell, and the more the story became formalized, the more I understood that I had done well. So here is the story of Tzia Teresa, the story of a woman. Tzia Teresa, now seventy years old, remembers during an illness, her whole life, her first meeting with Leandro, the parties and love, the fear and the war, her journey to find her arrested boyfriend, All this through moments of song, of poetry in Sardinian, of pure evocative storytelling.
