Teatro delle briciole

A theatre production centre that over the course of a history spanning over forty years has radically transformed the image, vocabulary and very concept of theatre for children and young generations. Founded in 1976, the first in Italy to create a Permanent Centre for the Production, Programming and Research of Theatre for Children and Young People, Teatro delle Briciole is a theatre production centre that has radically transformed the image, vocabulary and very concept of theatre for children and young generations. The activity of Teatro delle Briciole is rooted in a vision of the education and cultural growth of new generations, understood as moments in their trajectory as people and citizens, to whom theatre can provide an irreplaceable stimulus. Practiced and experienced as a tool for inclusion and active knowledge, as a place and opportunity for experiences in a continuous tension towards renewal and change, theatre can provide an important contribution to the construction of a politeia, of an open and aware citizenship, of a path of critical reflection, of taking possession of one’s own personality. Deeply rooted in its territory, the Teatro delle Briciole is also strongly projected outside the local borders, through a complex network of relationships with the national theatrical reality and a long vocation to look towards what happens abroad.

Productions made in Parma that tour in Italy and abroad coexist with creations that are born for a specific initiative, such as a festival or a special project, or that are aimed with particular attention at the community. The relationship with the city is expressed through the creation of structured and continuous initiatives in the historic space of the Teatro al Parco, from theater seasons to training proposals aimed at all audiences.
