It was born in 1998, after a period of training at Pontedera Teatro from the meeting of Anna Fascendini and Giulietta De Bernardi. The first years are of nomadic wandering between Turin and Milan. In 2000 Scarlattine Teatro found himself working in Kosovo, devastated by the war that had just ended. This is where the group’s first choices, first challenges, conquests and defeats are defined. Since 2004 ScarlattineTeatro has found a home in Campsirago, a home which opens its doors to other companies, giving life to Campsirago Residenza.
ScarlattineTeatro believes that theater should fascinate, confront, seduce, conquer, dazzle, amaze, desolate, cheer up, distress, consume, transform… life. He believes in the plurality of voices and ideas, loves taking risks with the lightness of play. Due to a precise poetic and political choice, Scarlattine Teatro puts on shows that can be performed anywhere.
He seeks an ever new way of being together and making art, moving on a territory of contamination between different languages and worlds to break the barriers that exist between theatre, performance, dance, music and image. For ScarlattineTeatro, but above all because he loves to reach everyone. The spectator is a traveling companion, to be infected and involved to give meaning, in comparison with those who live life, to his theatre-making.
«ScarlattineTeatro is an infectious, acute, contagious disease. Characteristic of the pediatric age, understood not only as a chronological age, but as an age in which the gaze is full of curiosity and amazement. If you had it, it’s a memory you carry with you for your whole life. This is why ScarlattineTeatro is the people who work there, who have worked there, who will work there.”
