Pierpaolo Piludu

In 1982, together with seven other young people, including Giancarlo Biffi and Alessandro Mascia, he founded the Cada Die Teatro company in Cagliari with which he still works continuously as an actor, author and director.

In 1994 he graduated in Pedagogy with Giulio Angioni with a thesis in Cultural Anthropology on storytelling techniques in Sardinia. “Pòsidos” was born from the research conducted in the field, a show focused on oral narration and brought to the stage with the tenor singing group “Su cuncordu iscanesu of Scano Montiferro.”

Among his most performed shows: “Laribiancos”, based on Francesco Masala’s novel “Quelli dalle labbra bianche”, directed by Giancarlo Biffi and often performed with the live participation of Paolo Fresu; “Arcipelaghi”, from the novel of the same name by Maria Giacobbe (with Alessandro Mascia and directed by Alessandro Lay); the monologue “Famiglia Puddu”, the story of a child with Down syndrome who dies in Cagliari during the bombings of 1943.

On this topic, in collaboration with the Chair of Anthropology of the University of Cagliari, and with the ISRE of Nuoro, he carried out research, still in progress, where he collected the testimonies of over 120 “children and young people of ’43” who they saw the city of Cagliari crumble under the bombs; has created a video archive (in the Tower of the Centro Culturale de la Vetreria in Cagliari), a documentary produced by Rai Sardegna (“Quando scappavamo col cappotto sul pigiama”) and a theatrical show which, since 2006, every year anniversary days, goes on stage with 20 students from the School of Performing Arts of La Vetreria. In 2017, “Cielo nero” debuted, written together with Francesco Niccolini and directed by Mauro Mou, the last stage of the research on the tragedy of the Second World War in Cagliari: the story of two twins whose very deep bond is broken by the outbreak of war.

Among the latest interpretations: “Marea” with Giancarlo Biffi and Tommaso Novi, and the monologues “Le magiche pietre”, with the stone seeds by Pinuccio Sciola and directed by Mauro Mou, and “Alberi e sogni” directed by Alessandro Mascia.

He directed Chisciotte Fenicottero”, written for Cada Die Teatro by Bruno Tognolini, which won the “La Rosa d’oro Award” as best show at the National Children’s Theater Festival in Padua.

He has conducted workshops with children, adults, elderly, with young migrants, and, together with Alessandro Mascia, in non-specifically theatrical contexts, with patients of mental health centers and with inmates of the “maximum security” section of the Buoncammino prison in Cagliari.

He has been highlighted several times for the Ubu award for best actor and for the research carried out on the language.
