Giuliana Musso, born in 1970, originally from Vicenza and adopted by Udine.
Actress, researcher, author, 2005 Critics’ Award, 2017 Cassino Off Award and 2017 Hystrio Award for dramaturgy, she is one of the major exponents of investigative theatre: a theatre that is placed on the border with investigative journalism, between investigation and poetry, denunciation and comedy. A poetics that characterizes all her works: a first trilogy on the “fundamentals” of life, Nati in casa, Sexmachine and Tanti Saluti (birth, sex and death), and then a challenging journey into the destructiveness of the patriarchal system with La città ha fondamenta sopra un misfatto (inspired by Medea. Voci di Christa Wolf), La Fabbrica dei preti (on life and training in Italian seminaries before the Second Vatican Council) and Mio Eroe (contemporary war in the voices of mothers of soldiers fallen in Afghanistan). In 2019, the monologue La scimmia, an original text inspired by the protagonist of Franz Kafka’s story A Report for an Academy, made its debut at Mittelfest. Her latest work DENTRO. Una storia vera, se volete, the result of a theatrical investigation into the theme of intra-family violence, debuted for Biennale Teatro 2020.

In 2023 she received the Ipazia award at the Festival of Female Excellence in Genoa.
