Giancarlo Biffi

Lombard but Sardinian at heart, he has lived in Cagliari since 1981, is a director, actor and author, as well as artistic director of the Cada Die Teatro and the La Vetreria Art Center. Graduated from the Dams of Bologna, with a thesis on theater in Sardinia, he has staged, written and in some cases performed more than fifty theatrical works, including: Ecuba ultimo atto, Nausicàa, L’Antigone, Diserzione, Milano da bruciare, HamletRevolution, Marea, Il flauto magico, Amici per la pelle, Cuore mancino, Senza Terra, A/R, L’ultimo Sprint…
His theatrical experience began in the Seventies at the Centro Sociale Santa Marta in Milan and continued with participation in the International School of Theater Anthropology directed by Eugenio Barba. In his wealth of experience: workshops, courses, internships and collaborations with masters of theatre, cinema and dance, including Wim Wenders, Andrej Tarkovsky, Jerzy Grotowski, Jngemar Lindh, Ko Murobuschi, Andrej Gregory, Thierry Salmon, Vincenzo Cerami and Fabrizio Cruciani …
His collaborations with musicians are numerous, including Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis, Paolo Angeli, Gavino Murgia, Ruben Chaviano, Tommaso Novi, Frederic Tarì, orchestra and choir of the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari.
In recent years, his commitment within “Meeting the Odyssey”, around the concept of “Instant Performace” with sudden and themed actions in the parks of St. Petersburg, in the Prague metro, in the ports of Estonia, to Helsinki and Opole along the Oder river; to the Greek refugee camps of Leros and Lesbos with “Arlecchino cerca casa”.
The production dedicated to children’s literature is significant, including the fairy tales featuring an intrepid and courageous little owl, all edited by Edizioni Segnavia and illustrated by Valeria Valenza: Gufo Rosmarino nel mondo di Amarilla (2022), Gufo Rosmarino cuore di nonna (2019) Rosmarino e i corvi farlocchi (2017), Rosmarino nel bosco delle ciliegie gnam gnam (2015), Rosmarino al Gran Circo dei Pinguini (2013), Quincho e la gatta con il ciuffo rosso (2012), Rosmarino ma tu mi vuoi?
