Born in Nuoro. He began playing the alto sax at the age of twelve. Thanks to his father’s well-stocked record collection, he had the opportunity to discover and grow by listening to jazz and classical music. At fifteen, he began playing with various pop and funky groups and collaborating with some theater companies in Sardinia. He attended Paolo Fresu’s seminars in Nuoro and shortly thereafter left for Siena to compete to be part of the Italian Jazz Youth Orchestra as first tenor sax. This immersion in the world of Jazz allowed him to increase his experience and meet many musicians with whom he had countless musical experiences in formations of all kinds: duos, trios, quartets, etc. Sardinia, with its deep musical roots, is constantly present in his sound journey. The Tenore singing in the role of Bassu, practiced already in adolescence, and the traditional study of Launeddas, merged over time with Afro-American music, finding an original and new path. Along with the soprano and tenor saxophone, he also plays the baritone saxophone, flutes and duduk. He has played and recorded with, among others: Rabih Abou Kalil, Bobby McFerrin, Michel Godard, G. Trovesi, Antonello Salis, Mal Waldron, Djivan Gasparian, Araik Bakhtckian, Salvatore Bonafede, Pietro Tonolo, Paolo Fresu, Famoudou Don Moye, Roswell Rudd, Sainko Namtcylak, Bebo Ferra, Danilo Rea, Babà Sissokò, Badara Seck, Al di Meola, Paolo Angeli, Hamid Drake, Franck Tortiller, Luigi Cinque, Mauro Pagani, Gianna Nannini, Massimo Ranieri, Andrea Parodi, Vinicio Capossela, Piero Pelù, Piero Marras, Bertas, Tazenda, Luigi Lai, Elena Ledda, Solis String, NOA, Gil Dor, Zohar Fresco, etc. etc. Furthermore, with various Italian and foreign groups he has played in the main Italian, European and non-European jazz festivals, among others in France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, England, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Turkey, Morocco, South Africa, Cuba, Yemen, Pakistan, USA, Russia etc.
