Francesco Magnelli

Francesco Magnelli (Florence, 1962) is an Italian pianist, composer and arranger. During his career he has played, among others, with Litfiba, CSI and CCCP. In 1992 he was among the founders of the Sonica production centre which discovered and launched bands such as Settore Out, Joecool and Marlene Kuntz. Also in 1992 the artistic director of the Museo D’Arte Moderna in Prato organised an evening in which the ex CCCP, together with the ex Litfiba, performed live all the songs from their last album made together and never played in concert. The show led to the birth of the Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti which published their first studio album “Ko de mondo” in 1994. Magnelli is also the creator and artistic director of “Stazioni Lunari”, a travelling musical show in which different authors and musicians take part each time. The music proposed comes partly from the repertoire of each artist and partly from traditional folk music from various parts of the world. Guests of the project include Ginevra Di Marco, Simone Cristicchi, Piero Pelù, Morgan, Brunori Sas, Carmen Consoli and Max Gazzè.
