Dario Vergassola

Born on May 3, 1957 in La Spezia. He soon distinguished himself for his skills as an improviser, for his spontaneous and deliciously unpredictable comic vision
He entered the world of entertainment by participating in ‘Professione Comico’, the event directed by Giorgio Gaber, in which he won both the audience and critics’ awards. His cabaret monologues and songs were organized into a theatrical show, entitled Manovale gentiluomo, which was performed throughout Italy with great success. Since 1994 he has been on tour with the show ‘La Vita è un lampo’ directed by Massimo Martelli, a show that has performed over 200 times. For his sympathy and comic verve Dario is the comic actor preferred by other artists for couple shows: after his partnership with Stefano Nosei he collaborated with Enzo Jannacci, and in 2001 we saw him on stage with David Riondino in ‘I cavalieri del tornio. Recital for two’. In February 2005 he made his theatre debut with “Todos Caballeros: ballads for Don Quixote and Sancho Panza”, an original elaboration of Cervantes’ work, once again for two voices with David Riondino. Instead, his “recital” becomes “The Impossible Interviews” taking inspiration from his character as an irreverent television interviewer. Recently, his third show with Riondino debuted, dedicated to a masterpiece of 19th century European literature (‘Madame Bovary’ by Gustave Flaubert) “Riondino accompanies Vergassola to meet Flaubert.
