Daniele Barbieri, a journalist for many years, has written 4 books on how to use science fiction at school: with Riccardo Mancini Learning from the future, Imagining futures and There are many futures; with Raffale Mantegazza When there was the future. His first novel – co-written with Gianluca Cicinelli – published in 2023 is titled 365 and between the folds it refers to the need to build worlds, typical of science fiction. He has a namesake who teaches at the University of Bologna; both are passionate about science fiction and comics so they are often confused. He is Roman but having married (in Sardinia) a Venetian he lives in Imola. The world is small and always in motion; also for this reason the best science fiction should be put in the backpack.
