Blanca Teatro was founded in 2004 in Carrara. Blanca develops its artistic path by creating theatrical shows for adults and children, at the same time carries out professional training activities, structures theatrical education projects with schools of all levels, organizes cultural events, promotes a culture of prevention of youth hardship and structures projects to support disabilities and recovery from drug addiction. The shows are produced at our Palco 38 space, and distributed throughout the country as well as the activity of organizing reviews and cultural events. The training activity develops on the regional territory while the educational, prevention and treatment projects of hardship have interregional development. The Palco 38 space is completely independent and the activities that are carried out within it are financed by the contribution of the public.

The HANDALA Teatro Resistente Festival is also supported by the contribution of the Tuscany Region through Law 38 “Rules for the protection and enhancement of the historical, political and cultural heritage of anti-fascism and the Resistance and the promotion of a culture of freedom, democracy, peace and collaboration between peoples”. Palco 38 is a cultural resistance project that we have been stubbornly pursuing for many years. A real place for relationships and exchanges in a historical moment in which it seems that the spaces for discussion are only virtual. We create and host in our festival shows, artists and projects that share with us logics contrary to those of the spectacular event, of the cultural supermarket so in vogue. We give space to projects that intend the theater as a possibility to observe, tell and change reality. Stories that can be experiences for adults and children, that make us want and have the courage to get up and act, not just stand by and watch.
