Arianna Scommegna

Born in 1973, she graduated as an actress in 1996 at the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Art.
Lina Volonghi Award 1996; National Critics’ Award in 2010, Hystrio Award 2011, Ubu Award 2014. Civic Merit Gelso D’Oro 2021 Cernusco S/N, Milan.
Since 1996 she has been a founding member of the Atir theater company, with which she creates, in addition to numerous shows, also social projects; in November 2021 she took over from Serena Sinigaglia and was appointed Artistic Director with Mattia Fabris and Nadia Fulco of Atir.
In THEATER, since 1996 she has been directed by Serena Sinigaglia in dozens of works on classic and contemporary texts. Among these Romeo and Juliet, Lear and Macbeth by W. Shakespeare, Bacchae and Trojan Women by Euripides, Women in Parliament by Aristophanes, Gidion’s Knot by Johnna Adams, Utoya by Edoardo Erba, Qui città di m. by Piero Colaprico, Potevo essere io by Renata Ciaravino, Di A Da In Con Su Per Tra Fra Shakespeare by Sinigaglia herself.
She collaborates with the most important Italian Teatri Stabili including Milan, Turin, Parma, Genoa, Bolzano, Prato and participates as an actress, on many occasions in leading roles, in numerous productions by leading directors on the national and international scene.
Among the shows: La Molli, divertimento alle spalle di Joyce, directed by Gabriele Vacis; Ritorno a casa by H. Pinter, directed by Peter Stein; Night bar by H. Pinter and L’intervista by Natalia Ginzburg directed by Valerio Binasco; Antigone by Sophocles directed by Gigi Dall’Aglio, with whose direction the actress had already worked for Cleopatràs and Mater Strangosciàs by Testori; Misery directed by Filippo Dini. Madre Coraggio by Brecht directed by Cristina Pezzoli. Directed by Veronica Cruciani she starred in Sergio Pierattini’s Il Ritorno, Giorgio Scianna’s La Palestra ore 18.00 and J.M Benet’s Due donne che ballano. With Renato Sarti she performed in Matilde, Un tram per San Vittore while he immersed himself in the poetry of Alda Merini in Magnificat directed by Paolo Bignamini.
She makes a foray into opera directed by the world-famous director Graham Vick in the role of the Narrator of Mozart’s opera Zaide, co-production of Teatri di Opera Lombardia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
In CINEMA the actress appears in the cast of the films: Tolo Tolo by Checco Zalone, 3/19 and Il colore nascosto delle cose by Silvio Soldini, Fai bei sogni by Marco Bellocchio, Scialla! by Francesco Bruni, La variabile umana by Bruno Oliviero, Il dolce rumore della vita by Giuseppe Bertolucci.
