He began studying as an actor in the field of theatrical anthropology first at Eugenio Barba’s I.S.T.A. and then at the Centre for Experimentation and Theatrical Research in Pontedera. After leaving Pontedera, he acted in the theatre with Luca Ronconi and in the cinema with Marco Bellocchio. In the second half of the eighties he began his professional activity as an author together with Marco Presta, with whom he had written and worked since the early years of high school. The two collaborated with Enrico Vaime in the creation of theatrical and television texts[1], including a Sanremo Festival, writing for Fabio Fazio, Enrico Montesano, Tullio Solenghi and Simona Marchini. Together with his friend and colleague Marco Presta he carried out an intense radio and television activity. In 1991-1992 he collaborated on the texts of La più bella sei tu by Luciano Rispoli on Telemontecarlo. Since 1992 he has collaborated with Rai Radio 2 as an author and host of programs, such as: Effetti collaterali (1992 – 1993), Chidovecomequando (1993-1995), Tira imbecille (for the 1998 World Cup), Buono Domenico (1997, Sunday variety show), specials from Sanremo and Miss Italia. Since 2 October 1995 he has been the author and host of the very popular radio show Il ruggito del coniglio[3], winner of important national awards, including the Flaiano Award, the Forte dei Marmi Political Satire Award, the Aristophanes Award, the Bordighera City of Humor Award, the Fregene Award, the Simpatia in Campidoglio Award and the Biagio Agnes Award. In 1997 he participated in the television program Giochi senza frontiere, hosted by Maria Teresa Ruta. In 2004, 2005 and 2006 he hosted Dove osano le quaglie for Rai3.
The duo “Dose & Presta” worked as television scriptwriters, for Rai1, in the well-known TV series Un medico in famiglia and Pazza famiglia, starring Lino Banfi and Enrico Montesano respectively. For the cinema they wrote the screenplay for Anche i commercialisti hanno un’anima by Maurizio Ponzi and wrote the dialogues for the animated film Opopomoz by Enzo D’Alò. They are the authors of some books inspired by their radio, television and cinema work. From February 2003 to 2013 they wrote the Sunday column of satire and customs on the front page of the newspaper Il Messaggero, initially entitled “Domenica Aperto” (2003-2007) and later “È lunedì, coraggio” (2007-2013).
He is co-founder of the Arcobalena group, which, within the Buddhist religious movement Soka Gakkai, brings together LGBTQ people. Together with Marco Presta, he hosted a satirical column within Unomattina on Rai1 in a video link with Francesca Fialdini. In 2017, he published the book La Rivoluzione del Coniglio (Mondadori), where he recounts his life and how he met and embraced Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism within the secular Buddhist religious organization Soka Gakkai. In 2022, he won the “Microfono d’Oro” Award for his radio activity.
