As an actress I have always worked on the art of storytelling. Narration is one of the techniques that an actor must possess, not only because it is essential for playing “solos”, but also because it is the basis for building the universe of the characters. This is true for any traditional theatrical text, and is even more important if you have to deal with contemporary texts, whose dramaturgical solutions often do not contain precise indications on contexts useful for the actor to create his stage presence. On the other hand, those who want to write for the theater can find in narration the tool to clarify with actors and directors the direction of their work and trigger relational processes from which the definitive text will arise. The same in fact also happens for cinema where the subject and treatment precedes the screenplay. The oral form of narration as theater and/or preparatory to theatre, involves techniques that have their foundations in the different forms of spoken storytelling, parable, fable, fairy tale, testimony, gossip, sung history and are intertwined with written forms, often popular such as chronicles, biographies, hagiographies…
