The calcareous heels rise proudly against the sky of Ogliastra and remind us of Tex Willer and his Grand Canyon. In this scenario, among the Cannonau vineyards, the greenish disorder of the Mediterranean scrub, Jerzu overlooks, surrounded by the mountains Lumbarau, Spanalai and Porcu ‘e Ludu, which together with Ulassai and its Art Station, will also host the Festival dei Tacchi this year.

Among the names that stand out in the 2011 edition’s program, those of Marco Baliani, Luca Mercalli, Giobbe Covatta, Ascanio Celestini, Lorenza Zambon and Gavino Murgia. Nature and art merge in a powerful and perfect partnership, Jerzu and Ulassai, for seven days change face. Theater, music, reading, painting and workshops, will once again drag the Ogliastra people out of their homes, will move the caravans of the festival people, will convince vacationers distracting them from the beaches to savor the taste of an unconventional knowledge, to experiment and live a culture that frees itself from canonical places, from the dominant thought. The ambitious goal of Cada Die Teatro is to stimulate reflection, overcoming the postulate of pure entertainment theater, to give space to the themes of immigration, the drama of developing countries, the world of work, mental illness, the condition of women.

An idea that of the Festival dei Tacchi, of a culture that descends from the pantheon and becomes for its original guise, the narration, the books go on “stage”, “popular”. The theater recovers in the voice and interpretation of the actors, with the notes of the musicians.
