Marianna Murgia

She lives in Bologna. She works on sound for theatre, cinema and videogames. She is co-founder of TriBit Studio, winner of the IncrediBol! 2018 award, with which she developed accessible games for the blind and which has transformed into a space dedicated to the sound design of audiovisual products (live recording, sound editing, mixing, sound design and music).

Also active as a performer, her artistic research investigates the field of voice and soundscape in performative and multimedia contexts. She has collaborated with Tempo Reale, Associazione Ca’ Rossa teatro, BoFilm, Ateliersì, Cedac, Italian Games Factory, RAI Pubblica Utilità, and has participated in various events and festivals of theater and contemporary art such as Campania Teatro Festival, Notte dei Poeti (CA), Festival dei Tacchi (OG), Festival Fuori! (BO), Art City (BO), Galleriapiù (BO).

He has held courses on Sound in Cinema at the “Florestano Vancini” school in Ferrara and is currently a Game Audio teacher at the “Music Academy” school in Bologna. He has also led sound walks for the Suono Giardino di Tempo Reale festival.

Voci is an experiment, an attempt to tell the myth of Arianna and Theseus from a female point of view, searching for the paradigm of isolation and diversity, enclosed within the labyrinth. And it is an imaginary labyrinth that the two actresses evoke through gesture, song and sound, in a story in the form of a musical work in which the materiality of the word and its evocative power become drivers of vision.
