The show tells the story of the young Garabed Surmelian, his family and life in Shevan, a small mountain village where everything still flows with the times dictated by nature and ancient rites. Through the words of a Meddah, a narrator of tradition, a passionate, curious and respectful fresco will appear, alternating intimate, emotional and profound moments with lighter and more fun ones to tell the story of birth, rites of passage, games and parties, which will bring spectators into contact with some of the “colors” of this extraordinary culture; but also with anxieties and fears, because the Armenians of this village, like those of all the other villages or cities, are threatened by the crazy threat of a young Turkish ruling class carrying a nationalist ideology, which will result in the planning and implementation of the most atrocious and terrible of crimes: genocide. And when the story comes to a tragic end and all seems lost, Meddah will once again touch hearts with one last story that will allow everyone to hope and breathe again.
