A graduate in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Padua, Pennacchi began his training as an actor with the Teatro popolare di ricerca – Centro universitari teatrale di Padova. Later, thanks to a collaboration with the director Gigi Dall’Aglio as an assistant, he learned the fundamentals of directing and theatrical writing. Shakespeare and me. Come il Bardo mi ha cambiato la vita

ANDREA PENNACCHI / TEATRO BOXER

In a very influential book, Harold Bloom claimed that Shakespeare invented the human being: well, I don’t have the tools to confirm this statement. He certainly helped me, and many others like me, to better understand humanity, including my own. The Shakespearean corpus is a map of human relationships ready to use. “Ready to use”, as long as we continue to work on it, like mechanics, like gardeners, never considering it an immobile and immo...

Pojana e i suoi fratelli

TEATRO BOXER

Pojana’s older brothers: Edo the security guard, Tonon the rodent exterminator, Alvise the black man and others, saw the light the day after April 1, 2014. On that day, in fact, Italy discovered that in a warehouse in Casale di Scodosia (a municipality in the Venetian province known for its furniture factories and allegorical floats) a second Tanko was being built, an armored earthmoving machine, with a ‘small cannon’ in the turret. My part...

Pojana e i suoi fratelli

ANDREA PENNACCHI

Born from a Venetian adaptation of The Merry Wives of Windsor, Franco Ford – Pojana – comes to prominence with the famous video Ciao terroni: a greedy little boss from the Northeast obsessed with money and his not at all veiled racism, who unreservedly displays very harsh opinions (fed by prejudice) regarding the uncertain times that the Northeast and the country as a whole are experiencing. His “brothers” (a former bouncer, a renowned ro...

Eroi

Andrea Pennacchi

What remains of the Iliad today? È possibile raccontarla ancora? Yet it doesn't take much: just find an episode that resonates with your personal experience and you can use it as a crowbar to enter a fortress full of treasures barely veiled by time, intimidated and humble in the face of beauty. The story was chosen as close as possible to the original one of the first great narrator of history, to allow each of the spectators to "see" in their ...

Mio padre: appunti sulla guerra civile

Andrea Pennacchi - Teatro Boxer/Pantakin

When my father died, I woke up suddenly, like you wake up after a party where you weren't having fun and you even drank the perfume in the bathroom. It's morning, you wake up and you feel bad, but the worst thing is that you don't remember anything, and there's a mess to clean up. And your dad, who was good at cleaning up, is no longer here. That's how my fabulous 90s ended. The end of a party, the birth of a new awareness. Like Telemachus, but o...
