Enrico Messina

Born in Foggia in 1969, he is an actor and narrator, author and director. The soul and founder of Armamaxa, since 2008 he has been the artistic director of the theatrical residence of the Teatro Comunale di Ceglie Messapica and since 2018 the artistic director, together with Daria Paoletta, of the ‘Teatro Madre Festival’ in Ostuni and of the ‘Terra Rossa Festival di Narrazione della Valle d’Itria’. A cultural animator and creator of connections, he contributed to ‘provoking’ the birth of Teatri Abitati, a revolutionary project that has profoundly changed the connective tissue of the theater in the Puglia Region. The focus of his artistic work has always been centered on narration and on how narration relates to theater in a constant search for a possible fusion between writing, movement, languages ​​and the elements of staging. He has been fortunate to travel a lot and meet traveling companions who, in accompanying him, have taught him a lot. In recent years he has preferred to stay ‘off’ the stage and dedicate himself to directing. This is how Icaro Caduto with Gaetano Colella (2018) was born, Metamorfosi Indistinto Racconto (with Daria Paoletta and Gaetano Colella, as well as him on stage, 2019), Armando lettere (R)esistenti with Enrico Vezzelli (2020), Esterina Centvestiti with Daria Paoletta (2021) winner of the EOLO AWARD 2022, and La Felicità di Emma with Rita Pelusio (2022).
