Flavio Soriga

He made his debut in 2000 with the collection of short stories Diavoli di Nuraiò (published by the Sardinian publishing house Il Maestrale), and immediately won the Italo Calvino Prize. In 2002 he published Neropioggia for Garzanti (a novel that won the 2003 Grazia Deledda Giovani Prize). In 2003, Soriga represented Italy at the Scritture Giovani project at the Festivaletteratura in Mantua. He subsequently worked as an author for several television programs. In 2007, the University of Vienna awarded him the Abraham Woursell Foundation’s donation for young writers. In 2008, Soriga wrote the novel Sardinia Blues (Bompiani), which won him the Mondello Città di Palermo Prize. One of his stories is included in the anthology of Italian and American writers Il lato oscuro, published by Einaudi Stile Libero. In October 2009, he won the Piero Chiara literary prize with the collection of short stories L’amore a Londra e in altri luoghi (Bompiani). In 2010 he published the novel Il cuore dei briganti for Bompiani, a finalist for the Rieti Prize. In 2011 he published Nuraghe Beach, the Sardinia you will never visit, for the Contromano series published by Laterza. In 2015 he published Metropolis. Martino Crissanti investigates, published by Bompiani. In 2024 he published the children’s book Signor Salsiccia. A story of hedgehogs, grandparents and climate change and the collection of short stories Amori alla finestra, both published by Bompiani.
