Author and actress from Turin, among the greatest interpreters of narrative theatre, Laura Curino alternates in her repertoire texts of new dramaturgy and classical texts.
Since 2015 she has been the artistic director of the Teatro Giacosa in Ivrea.
One of the founders of Teatro Settimo, she has participated as an actress and author in most of the productions in the 25 years of life of the company.
Since 2001 she has collaborated with numerous theatres – including Teatro Stabile di Torino and Piccolo Teatro di Milano – festivals, companies, institutions, radio and television. She teaches theatrical writing at the Catholic University of Milan and holds conferences, seminars and workshops in Italy and abroad.
The theme of work, the female point of view on contemporaneity, the attention for the new generations are among the founding elements of her writing.
Among the many texts and shows staged: the diptych on the history of the Olivetti family; Passione ovvero la scoperta della vocation teatrale; Santa Impresa on the Turin Social Saints of the 19th century; La Diva della Scala, where the theatrical vocation becomes a profession; La lista on Pasquale Rotondi, the Superintendent who saved thousands of art masterpieces during the Second World War; Il rumore del silenzio dedicated to the victims of the Piazza Fontana massacre; Castaways without a face to give a name to the victims of the Mediterranean, from the book testimony by Cristina Cattaneo; L’anello forte project inspired by the work of the same name by Nuto Revelli; Pigiama per sei romantic comedy based on hilarious misunderstandings; Big Data B&B on the ethical and social implications of the Digital Revolution.
She is also the interpreter of numerous shows directed by: Consuelo Barilari, Alessandro D’Alatri, Simone Derai, Corrado D’Elia, Anna Di Francisca, Ivana Ferri, Luca Micheletti, Cristina Pezzoli, Marco Rampoldi, Renato Sarti, Marco Sciaccaluga, Laura Sicignano, Serena Sinigaglia, Claudia Sorace, Roberto Tarasco and Gabriele Vacis. Among the numerous awards: Ubu Award (with Teatro Settimo) 1993, Anct Award – National Association of Theatre Critics 1998, Hystrio Award for dramaturgy 2003, Anct Award – National Association of Theatre Critics 2023, Ipazia Award Festival of Excellence in the Feminine 2023.
