Trickster Teatro

Born from the meeting of Cristina Galbiati and Ilija Luginbühl, Trickster-p is an artistic research project that moves in a border territory and contamination between different languages. After an initial phase focused on a specific research on the centrality and physicality of the performer, over the years Trickster-p has distanced itself from the concept of theatre in the strict sense to investigate possible transversal expressive signs that, both conceptually and formally, are the result of the mixture of extremely heterogeneous artistic tools. His poetics is an invitation to the spectator to open their own perceptive spaces and to create their own reality in a border territory between the inner vision and the outer vision. Among his most significant works are performances and installations translated into numerous languages and presented in over 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, North America and South America. In addition to the artistic works, the experimental vocation of the project has materialized in the creation of the ‘Casa del tabacco’, a space for creation and experimentation located in the village of Novazzano, a few kilometers from the Italian-Swiss border. Trickster-p enjoys the support of Pro Helvetia – Swiss Foundation for Culture, the Canton of Ticino Culture Division, the City of Lugano, LAC Lugano, the Municipality of Novazzano and numerous public and private foundations. In 2017 it was awarded the prestigious Swiss Theatre Award; it is currently a resident company at LAC Lugano.
