Rossella Dassu began her artistic career in 1993, attending the three-year Acting School directed by Giancarlo Biffi, in Cagliari.
She worked as an actress for the Cada die teatro company until 1995. In 1997 she graduated as an actress and theatre operator in the European training course “Creativity and independence in making theatre” organized by the C.R.S.T. of Pontedera (among the teachers Yuri Alscitz, Danio Manfredini, Marco Paolini, Claudio Morganti, Romeo Castellucci and Giovanna Marini). Since 1997 she has lived in Bologna where she works with the Deicalciteatro Company, winner of the Iceberg Award of Bologna and finalist of the Scenario Award. In 1998 she founded, together with Matteo Belli and Maurizio Sangirardi, the Ca’Rossa Cultural Association, which deals with production, distribution and theatre training in Bologna and the Province. Since 2000 she has undertaken a path of study and research in theatrical training aimed at children, adolescents and teachers, developing a method based on the encounter between different techniques of expression and using different improvisation and composition techniques for the staging. She is a teacher in workshops and courses in Primary and Secondary Schools, and participates, as a theatre trainer, in projects such as “La Scuola di pace di Montesole”, “Le città sane dei bambini”. She has obtained awards and recognitions with some shows created with young students (Festival of the theatre of the laboratories of the Teatro I.T.C. of San Lazzaro, Festival of the laboratories of the Theatre of Marano sul Panaro, Sardegna Teatro in corto). Since 2003 she has collaborated with Teatri di vita of Bologna, for which she is an actress in various productions directed by Andrea Adriatico (Orgia by P.P. Pasolini, Le quattro gemelle by Copì, Atti senza parole by S. Becket, Le Cognate Tramblay). She is the author of shows and performances created in collaboration with Festivals and Theaters of Bologna (Teatrino Clandestino, Macellerie Pasolini). She is the leading actress in the film “Echi di sera”, directed by Enza Negroni, since 2000 she has collaborated, as an actress, in several films by Tonino De Bernardi (Serva e padrona, Stabbed in the Mirror, Medeé un mitacle, Latitudini), which participate in National and International Festivals (Turin Film Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, Buenos Aires Film Festival, Rome Film Festival).
