Anthropologist, writer and essayist. As a researcher he has dealt with various socio-cultural issues such as youth conditions, deviance, mass communication, residential loneliness, cultural politics. He was a professor of Anthropology of Theatre and Performance at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Perugia, focusing on “group theatre” and the “theatre spectator”. He is currently a professor of “European Ethnology: intangible cultural heritage” at the School of Specialization in Demo-Ethno-Anthropological Heritage of the universities of Perugia, Florence, Siena and Turin. From 1981 to 1990 he was a member of the scientific committee of the International School of Theatre Anthropology directed by Eugenio Barba. From 1987 to 1990 he conducted his own field research in the Salento peninsula entitled “Identity of the Spectator”. He was editor of “Ombre rosse”, “Linea d’ombra”, “La terra vista dalla luna” and “Lo straniero”, magazines founded and directed by Goffredo Fofi. By express will of Carmelo Bene, through a public will, Giacché was, from 2002 to 2005, the first president[1] of the foundation “L’Immemoriale di Carmelo Bene”. Editor of various editions of Aldo Capitini’s writings, he is the author of several essays on cultural politics and theatrical culture published in numerous specialized magazines. He is currently part of the scientific committee of the magazine “L’Ethnographie” published by the Laboratoire dl’Ethoscénologie of the “Maison de Sciences de l’Homme – Paris Nord![2] and is a collaborator of the monthly magazine “Gli Asini”.
