Born in Senegal, they are nicknamed “prodigious children”. The members of Guney-Africa mature their artistic training in years of severe study of dance, percussion and singing around the Senegalese territory and among different tribes: Wolof, Serere, Diola, Bambara, Toucouleur, Yorouba, etc. The group aims to make known and spread African culture through the universal artistic vehicle: percussion, singing and dancing. The band, after various stages in Italy, has found a stable base in Sardinia, appreciating the people and the climate of this land. The basic staff of the band are joined by the Sardinian musicians of the Afro group “Dunumba” who give life to a captivating show with traditional African rhythms, songs and dances.
